ABC’s of RHC (part 2)

Ever wondered what some of the lingo we bandy about in the Home Care/Home Health space means? Well, here’s a list, A-Z of some of our terms, including one or two that are specific to us at RHC, and what they mean. Hope it helps!

Jargon: Language and abbreviations used in any context, such as we do in Home Health: ALFs (Assisted Living Facilities), ILFs (Independent Living Facilities), ADLs and IADLs (see above), HHAs (Home Health Aides), etc

Kindness: A requirement in Home Health and other facets of life

Licensure:  A lengthy, tedious, extensive, and expensive process to obtain a piece of paper that says you’re legit

Medication Assistance and Reminders: How we help our clients remember to take their meds

Non-Ambulatory: Those of our clients who are unable to walk by themselves

Orientation:  The final stage in our hiring process where we communicate company culture and equip our caregivers to be the best they can be

Personal Care: Hands-on care that require touching the client e.g. bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring etc.

Quality: No compromise in our standards when it comes to our employees and the care delivered to our clients
